After signing an agreement with SKY in México ESPN announced the release of ESPN HD signal to provide relevant sport events and program analysis 24 hours a day during the week.
ESPN has three channels in its bid to Mexico, ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN HD, the latter being the first high-definition sports channel, has the highest quality standard of HD (High Definition) signal for a sports channel, based on the MPEG4 P.10 system (H264) with an excellent Bit Rate of 17.2 Mbps., and the endorsement of the largest investment in technology dedicated to sports broadcast on TV.
